Your student ID is the number associated with your digital identity at Athens Technical College and is located on your official acceptance letter. The last three digits of your student id are also part of your student email address

Athens Technical College’s Single Sign On (SSO) integrates the login for all Banner, Blackboard, email, and intranet applications. This means that you will only need one set of credentials (username and password) to access all of your on-campus resources. All courses taught at Athens Technical College use Blackboard as our digital Learning Management System (LMS) which is accessed through the Internet. Instructors of all courses, regardless of course type, post grades, the course syllabus, assignment calendar, and announcements in Blackboard. Some classes will utilize Blackboard more than others. All students must complete the Blackboard Orientation before meeting with an advisor and registering for classes.

Meet with your academic advisor
Whether you meet with your advisor in person, by phone, or using student email, all students are expected to meet with their advisor to set up an academic plan. After your initial plan is set up, you may be able to use the college’s Degree Works system to keep track of your progress as you work towards achieving your academic goals!

Fill out applications for financial aid and scholarships
If you would like to apply for state or federal financial aid such as HOPE Grant, HOPE Scholarship, and Pell Grant, be sure to go to studentaid.gov right away to fill out your application. The Athens Tech college code is 005600.
For dual enrollment students or students who wish to apply for state aid only, please visit www.GAfutures.org and complete your online funding application.
Additionally, the Athens Tech Foundation offers scholarships through a separate application process.
Get your student ID card
The Office of Student Activities is responsible for managing the ID Services area for Athens Technical College. All students are must have a current student identification card while enrolled at the College. This identification card serves as a method to prove that students are enrolled, is used as a library card, to sell used textbooks back to the bookstore, and grants students access to other campus services, such as the academic support center. Student identification cards are also used to identify students at clinical and internship sites associated with individual programs of study. Students may obtain ID cards at scheduled times each week in the office of student activities (room H-759) off of the student center on the Athens Campus, the Student Affairs Office on the Elbert County Campus, the Manager’s Office at the Greene County Campus, and the Director’s Office at the Walton County Campus. Students may also schedule an appointment to have their IDs made. Students receive their first photo identification card at no cost, but replacement cards are $5.

Obtain a parking pass
Students pay a parking fee, which is included as part of the registration fee each term. Students must obtain parking permits at the Student Affairs Information desk/Admissions Office on the Athens Campus, the Student Affairs Office on the Elbert County Campus and Greene County Campus, the Director’s Office on the Walton County Campus, and the Athens Campus Library after 5pm. Students must display parking permits on their vehicles and must park in designated student parking areas. Parking may not be available directly adjacent to your classroom building at all times; therefore, students should allow ample time to park and walk across campus before the start of classes. Students may refer to the campus maps available on our website for student parking areas.

New Student Orientation
Athens Technical College’s New Student Orientation is delivered in person and through virtual sessions online. Registration will be available approximately six weeks in advance for live sessions. These sessions are not required, but we strongly encourage you to register and attend. Refreshments will be served at in-person events.

Does ATC offer online classes?
Yes, there are several hundred courses that are offered online in order to accommodate your schedule better with your personal life. These can include in-person, fully online, hybrid or web-enhanced options.
How many different campuses does ATC offer?
The main campus is located in Athens, with satellite campuses located in Greene County, Elbert County, and Walton County.
Is Athens Technical College accredited?

What is the College’s mascot?
Our mascot is the owl, which represents wisdom and independent thinking. The character mascot is named Athena, the Greek mythology goddess of wisdom and war and city protectress, who adopted the owl as her sacred or favorite bird.
What is the average class size?
Most classes have an average of 10 to 20 students per class, with 30 at the very most. Learning in smaller class sizes often helps students form strong networks on campus.
