Program Overview
The Conservation Law Enforcement program at ATC is one of the two Conservation Law associate degree programs in the state of Georgia. It is a unique interdisciplinary program that combines fisheries and wildlife management and criminal justice courses that prepares students for a career at the intersection of those fields.
The Conservation Law Enforcement program requires an internship with a conservation law enforcement agency or related position for graduation. This internship is completed over the summer. In addition to internships, students will have many opportunities to network with current and former conservation law enforcement professionals. Our courses include frequent hands-on labs and outdoor field work including surveying campus for wildlife, equipment operation, research projects and more! Graduates of this program will have a degree to meet the education requirement to apply for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources Game Warden Academy. The average starting salary for game wardens is $50,000. Students could also apply for jobs as park rangers, conservation technicians, or environmental protection technicians.
Specific Facility, Tools Or Educational Tools Available
The program was part of a recent expansion of the Elbert County campus. We have brand new state of the art equipment and facilities including a boat, tractor, truck and utility vehicle.
