Program Overview

Agriculture is a $13 billion business in Georgia with a wealth of opportunities for employment for students with an understanding of both the production and business functions of the industry. Our program prepares students to enter this broad industry as a manager or entrepreneur in the areas of poultry, horticulture, and animal science.

Athens Technical College is uniquely located in northeast Georgia – the worldwide hub of poultry production, the state epicenter for nursery production, and a prime position for meeting the local food needs for the rapidly growing I-85 corridor. Graduates have become farm owners, managers in poultry and greenhouse production, and field technicians. Experiential learning abounds in our courses with laboratory components.
