Morrow, GA – For the fifth time in university history, Clayton State enthusiastically met with Athens Technical College to further build upon its strong relationship.
On Friday, January 19, the two institutions signed a new articulation agreement to provide students with greater educational opportunities and access to Legal and Paralegal Studies between both institutions.
According to Prof. Antoinette France-Harris, Clayton State’s Legal Studies program coordinator, the agreements are “designed to ease the transition and minimize loss of credit and course duplication for transferring students who have received their A.A.S. in Paralegal Studies and are now seeking their B.S. in Legal Studies at Clayton State.”
“Most students who pursue their B.S. in Legal Studies are either interested in becoming paralegals or attending law school after graduation,” France-Harris said. “The Legal Studies Program is particularly attractive because all program options can be completed fully online.”
France-Harris further described the university’s American Bar Association (ABA)-approved B.S. in Legal Studies program as one of “high quality,” while further highlighting both its affordability and its availability as the only public option in the State of Georgia.
Athens Technical College currently offers the ABA-approved paralegal studies program at the Athens Campus, which is led by Program Chair Kye Haymore.
Both university presidents were onsite and, surrounded by several members of their respective staffs, expressed their utmost excitement in working together to build both stronger relationships among their institutions, as well as stronger educations for their students.

Lewis, president of Clayton State University.
“We are delighted to partner with Clayton State University in this articulation agreement,” said Dr. Andrea Daniel, president of Athens Technical College. “Our paralegal studies program is well-known in the region for producing qualified graduates, and we are excited about this opportunity for ATC students to be able to seamlessly transition to further their education.”
