Elbert County Campus

Student Affairs

Support Services

Located in the center of Northeast Georgia, Athens Technical College Elbert County Campus is committed to the comfort and well-being of our students. Student Support Services offers assistance to students who might be at risk of not reaching their educational goals because of factors beyond the classroom. Support is available to students with disabilities, student veterans, special populations, and students requesting counseling. Staff provide information for programs and resources on campus, and offer community referrals. The college will refer students to community agencies if the student’s needs for services go beyond the scope of the college’s professional expertise.

Please contact Tina Bone, Elbert Campus Coordinator, at tbone@athenstech.edu or 706-213-2103 for more information.

Additional information regarding support services can be found on the Student Support Services Website.

Career Development

Career services provides assistance to students seeking advice on ATC Programs of Study, and development of professional goals upon graduation. Students can complete career assessments in Virtual Job Shadow that are designed to help individuals determine which college programs align with their interests and skill sets. Students and graduates receive career development through Optimal Resume, an online resume writing and job search platform. Staff use Optimal Resume to partner employers with current students and alumni seeking employment.

Please contact Tina Bone at tbone@athenstech.edu or 706-213-2103 for more information.

Additional information regarding career services can be found on the Career Services Website.

Academic Support Center

ATC Academic Support (tutoring centers) encompasses academic support and tutorial services designed to optimize learning opportunities. Free tutoring is offered in most core content areas. The Centers offer students a relaxed environment for studying in groups or learning one-on-one with a tutor. The service is offered in person and online, through Blackboard Collaborate.

Please contact Tina Bone at tbone@athenstech.edu or 706-213-2103 for more information.

Additional information regarding academic support can be found on the Academic Support Services Website.

Campus Life & Student Activities

The Student Center in Building 100 is host to a multitude of student activities and functions. The center is complete with a gathering area for students to enjoy the available food & beverage vending machines, campus bookstore, comfortable couches, and a private study room. Picnic pavillions are available near the campus lake to accommodate outdoor activities.

Student organizations and activities are an integral part of student life at Athens Technical College. Students attending the Elbert County Campus are encouraged to participate in ATSAC (Athens Technical College Student Advisory Council), or one of the college clubs and organizations that enhance academic achievement and success.

Please contact Beth Thornton, Distance Education and Outreach Librarian, at ,bthornton@athenstech.edu or 706-213-2116 for information about ATSAC. Information regarding student organizations can be found on the Student Organizations Website.
