Financial Aid

Announcements

    • Summer 2019 Important Dates
      • Summer 2019 Important Dates Pell (up to $450) available at the book store from May 8 to May 22
      • Pell refunds available beginning June 7

Refunds are available through BankMobile. Students must choose how they would like to receive their refund at www.refundselection.com. Please contact the cashier’s office for more information.

If a student applies for financial aid late, has classes that start after the first refund date, or has other delays, they may receive a refund after the posted date.

Students who take classes in multiple sessions may receive their Pell refund on more than one disbursement. For example, if a student signs up for two classes and one lasts the entire term and the other starts at the midpoint and lasts until the end of the term, the student would receive half of their Pell up front during the first round then the other half after the other class has started.

*Beginning fall 2017, Athens Technical College will be awarding Pell under a fall/spring academic year. This means that 50% of a student’s Pell award will be available fall and the remaining 50% will be available in spring. Due to a change in Pell funding, students will be able to receive up to 150% of their Pell award each academic year and an additional 50% will be available for summer. Students who are fulltime (12 or more hours) fall and spring must be enrolled in at least 6 hours in summer to receive more than 100% Pell. All other students will be awarded based on their attending hours each term up to 150% of their maximum award. Students are advised to monitor the Pell Lifetime Eligibility Used which has a limit of 600%. Please inquire with the financial aid office for additional information.

    Financial Aid Early Application Deadlines

    July 1 - Fall Semester
    November 1 - Spring Semester
    April 1 - Summer Semester

Financial aid applications will continue to be processed throughout the year, but completing your FAFSA early ensures that it is processed in time for the payment deadline prior to the beginning of the semester.

Students can check Banner Web to find out if we need something from you. Go to Student Records & Financial Aid, then Financial Aid, and My Eligibility. Finally, click on Student Requirements. Choose the current aid year to view any requirements.
