Fred Perriman was elected Mayor of Madison, Georgia in November 2013 with no opposition and was sworn into office on January 2, 2014.

Fred is one of seven children born to Tommie and Lena Perriman. He is a native of Madison. He is a graduate of Pearl Burney High.

He is the Pastor of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Lincolnton, Georgia, where he has served faithfully for the past ten years, teaching and preaching the gospel, and he is the past Moderator of the First Shiloh Association.

He has served on various boards and committees of numerous organizations including the Morgan County African-American Museum (founding Board Member), chaplain at Morgan Memorial Hospital, and a lifetime member of the NAACP.

Fred and his wife Marie have been happily married for 43 years and have three daughters, Angela Perriman-Dogins, Phalanda Perriman, and Crystal Perriman-Bruno; father-in-law to Timothy Dogins and Quint Bruno; and grandfather to Alexis Maria Dogins and Ayden Quincy Bruno.

My name is Thomas (Tom) Sutton Denny. I was born on July 10, 1951, in Elberton, GA.

I graduated from Elbert County High School in 1969, from Middle Georgia College in 1971 with an AS and from the University of Georgia in 1973 with a BBA.

I am married to my wife, Mary Jane, of 41 years. She is from Aiken, SC, and have a step son Brian.

My interests are Ham radio and flying. I hold an Amateur Extra class amateur radio license. I also hold a General Radiotelephone License (previously known as a First Class Radiotelephone). I soloed on my 16th birthday and obtained my Private license on my 17th birthday. I currently hold a Commercial, single and multi engine land and Instrument License and a Certified Flight Instructor’s license for single and multi engine and Instrument.

After graduation from UGA in 1973, I worked as a flight instructor and charter pilot in Athens, GA. I was hired by the Federal Aviation Administration as an Air Traffic Controller in January, 1974. I retired from the FAA in January 2011, with 37 years, as the Air Traffic/District Manager of Charlotte Air Traffic Control Tower. I spent my last 10 years in Charlotte. Prior to Charlotte I worked in the FAA Regional Office in Atlanta, was Air Traffic Manager in Savannah, GA and Air Traffic Manager in Augusta, GA. In total I worked at 10 FAA facilities in my 37 years in different positions.

I am a member of Elberton First United Methodist Church, Development Authority of Elbert County, Elberton and Bowman and served two (2) years as its Chairman. I am a member of Elks, Masons, Shriners, Quiet Birdmen (QB’s), The Georgia Bulldog Club, The Touchdown Club of Athens and am a Kentucky Colonel. Upon retirement I was awarded The Order of the Long Leaf Pine and Captain of First Flight by the State of North Carolina.

I am currently providing limited flight instruction and pilot services and serving as a Court Bailiff in Elbert County.

Robert joined the U.S. Army upon graduation from high school in 1969. He served 25 years in the Army. During his term of service he completed and Associate Degree in Mid Management from Fayetteville Technical College, and a BS Degree from the University of New York. He was quite accomplished in the Army. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division, served in Laos, Cambodia Thailand , with the Elite Special Forces during the Viet Nam War, was a Jump Master, and had multiple assignments throughout the continental U.S. and internationally. Robert retired as a Command Sergeant Major in 1993.

Community Involvement:
Robert is involved in the community in multiple areas. He is a collaborative partner with Golden Harvest Food Bank and one of the catalyst behind the local Food Pantry, worked to address family violence, served on committees for the Board of Education, a Board Member of Community Addiction Recovery Program, on the County EMS Task Force and Solid Waste Task Force, and Ex-Officio Chairman of Greene County Family Connection. He served six years as a Deacon at Grace Fellowship Church, with the responsibility of Benevolence, and recently nominated and selected as an Elder of the congregation. Robert was a member of the Leadership Greene Class of 2013. In 2013 Robert was awarded the Humanitarian Award, and previously was awarded the Gresham Geter Award for Outstanding Community Leadership.

In June of 1998 he became the Executive Director of the Greensboro Housing Authority (GHA) and he set out to make a difference in his community, Greene County Georgia. In his initial assessment of the community he found that multiple areas need to be addressed. The facilities were all old and not maintained in a condition that gave the residence pride in their community. Additionally the Housing Authority was not managed with fiscal responsibility or administrative expertise. Robert utilized his training in advanced leadership, asset management, uniform physical condition standards, financial management, contracting and procurement. He gained certifications in Mid- Management Executive Level, Public Housing Management, Inspections, Government Contracting & Procurement (Villanova University) Masters Certificate, Mold & Moisture Identification & Remediation, Project Management (Georgia Institute of Technology), Capital Improvement, Maintenance Management, and Modernization. His contributions, over 15 years has brought the once ineffective Greensboro Housing Authority to one of the best managed properties in Georgia. Receiving awards locally and from the Georgia Association of Housing & Redevelopment Association. Currently GHA is rated as a High Performer in all areas of their rating by The Department of Housing & Urban Development Standards.

A native of Kansas City, Missouri; moved to Athens, Georgia with his wife Brenda, in July of 1999. Reg is a former Manufacturing Operations Executive, Corporate Instructor and Human Resources Manager for the Westinghouse Electric and ABB transformer plants in Jefferson City, Missouri and Athens, Georgia where he served more than 20 years in that industry.

Reg holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, Missouri and a Doctorate in Counseling from the Andersonville Theological Seminary in Georgia. Reg has served as a counselor with inmates at the Athens Clarke County Jail, and the Youth Detention Center. He holds credentials in family and adolescent therapy; has served as Pastor of Hartwell First Baptist Church in Hartwell, GA and is currently serves as the Financial Chair for the Northeast Georgia Workforce Development Board.

Reg joined the University of Georgia’s Physical Plant (now Facilities Management Division) as Human Resources Senior Manager in April of 2006 and his team embarked on several projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of FMD. These ventures include the development and implementation of apprenticeships in the carpentry, electrician, auto mechanic, HVAC, plumbing, and stationary engineer trades. These are official education and OJT programs certified through the U.S. Department of Labor.

Reg also leads other educational strategies including FMD’s two internal leadership courses: Basic Lead for aspiring leaders and the LEAD Series for incumbent leaders. FMD also provides technical educational training for its employees, with the majority of its 25 participants attending Athens Technical College. The division also hosts a GED program open to all UGA employees and applicants. All of these educational initiatives demonstrate Reg’s commitment to FMD and his focus in helping the enterprise achieve World Class status in employee development.
