Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honor Society Completes Service Projects
Date: Feb 06,2015
Members of the Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honor Society at Athens Technical College recently collected donations from faculty, staff, and students as part of their Books for Keeps and Project Frontlines service projects.
Books were collected on campus during the Fall Semester, and will be delivered to the Books for Keeps warehouse next week. Books for Keeps is a local non-profit that provides books to elementary school students from low-income families to help them keep reading during the summer break. ABG members sorted and boxed over 250 books.
Project Frontlines supports U.S. military units overseas by sending a variety of items for the soldiers to enjoy while helping to protect our freedom back home. Items donated on campus included toiletries, snack foods, and games, among many other items to benefit our brave soldiers. ABG members packed 24 boxes of items to be sent next week.
The members and advisors of Alpha Beta Gamma would like to thank everyone for their generous donations in support of local kids and military service men and women overseas.
At the end of the Fall Semester, members of the Alpha Beta Gamma Business Honor Society volunteered at the local Food Bank of Northeast Georgia. The members spent the day sorting and staging food items to be used for the Food Bank’s “Food to Kids” program. With the help of local schools, the Food Bank distributes needed food items to low-income families for weekend meals. A lot of heavy lifting was involved, but each member left with the satisfaction of helping others.
