Library Services
The purpose of the Athens Technical College libraries is to facilitate the learning and research of its students and faculty. The main library on the Athens Campus and the branch libraries on the Elberton, Greene, and Walton campuses provide faculty and students with research opportunities using a variety of resources. As information delivery changes with technological advancements, the libraries attempt to meet the information needs of the campus communities with cutting-edge equipment and delivery systems.
The catalog of the Athens Technical College libraries is online and provides author, title, subject, and keyword access to all materials in the libraries, including books, DVDs, periodicals, electronic books, and online resources. You can access the Webster’s Dictionary and the Encyclopaedia Britannica via the library’s home page, as well as nursing and health-science resources via the Salem Health database and Gale’s Nursing Resource Center. You can also practice taking the GED, ESL, NCLX, and other exams, as well as improving job search and workplace skills on Learning Express. Go to GALILEO to obtain full-text periodical articles and more on any subject.
The library also provides students with a self-service photocopier at a charge of five cents per page. Black and white or color printing from a computer file or USB drive is provided for ten cents and fifty cents per page via the WEPA kiosk-based print services in the Athens computer lab, Athens Campus library, Elbert Campus library, Walton Campus library, and Greene Campus library. Students may either purchase a WEPA print card or use their debit or credit cards to print in these locations. Some of the benefits of this service include:
- Documents can be created at home, uploaded, and printed on campus.
- Documents are printed on high-bond paper.
- Documents can be printed in black and white and in color.
