Disability Services

Athens Technical College established the Office of Disability Services to provide assistance to any student with an appropriately documented disability who requests academic adjustments or auxiliary aids in the classroom or for testing. A disability that qualifies a student to receive accommodations in college is any physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more of the major life activities such as caring for one's self, performing manual tasks, walking, seeing, hearing, speaking, breathing, learning, or working. In order for us to be able to make a determination about eligibility for services, a student must submit current official documentation of a disability at least two weeks in advance of the need for academic assistance. As a postsecondary institution, Athens Technical College cannot accept IEPs or 504 Plans from high school to support the provision of academic adjustments.
