As part of their educational experience, students enrolled in certain programs perform program-related procedures for faculty and staff members and fellow students. The Cosmetology and Dental Hygiene programs also seek and accept members of the general public as clients/patients. This public program is known as Live Work.
Student-Provided Services
Live work plans further stipulate that students and facilities will not be used for personal gain or profit and ensure that live work projects are not of a production nature and thus do not compete with private enterprises. Live work projects are designed for compliance with the Governor’s Executive Order on Ethics.
Live work cannot and will not be performed solely by instructors; student participation is required. Live work will be performed consistent with established program standards and desired student learning outcomes.
Dental Hygiene Clinic
Because of class schedules and student availability, we have limited clinical days and appointments and patients may be required to return to our clinic two or more times to get the cleaning completed.
Patients may call 706-583-2810 and speak with the receptionist or leave a message stating they’re interested in a dental appointment. Be sure to leave your name and phone number.
Payment is due at the beginning of the cleaning appointment. We accept Visa, Mastercard, and Discover (not American Express). We cannot accept checks or cash.

Our mission is to provide theory and practical lab work to prepare students to pass the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology and Barbering licensure examination and thus qualify for entry-level positions in full-service salons/barber shops.
