Date:Feb 11, 2017
The Athens Technical College Rotaract Club assist the Rotary Club of Athens for their Polar Bear Plungefest, which supports local charities in the community through the funds raised for the event. This year, Athens Technical College’s Rotaract Club nominated ten faculty and staff members to plunge into the frigid waters of Lake Chapman on Saturday, February 11th. The Rotaract Club would like to thank Nick Chapman, Alvie Coes, Charles Dawson, Bob Ertzberger, Jessica Felts, Alysen Heil, Nathan Major, Kala McNair, Sarah Strickland, and Lauren Williams for raising money and participating in the Plunge. A special thanks to Charles Dawson and Nathan Major for going all the way in at Plungefest! The Athens Technical College Rotaract Club raised over $470 for the REACH Scholarship, which is a need based scholarship program, and Athens Land Trust, which focuses on land conservation and community.
