The Testing Services unit of Student Support Services oversees the administration of the following placement tests for applicants to the college who are required to submit test scores in order to be admitted to Athens Tech:
- COMPASS - An untimed, computerized assessment of basic writing, math (pre-algebra and algebra), and reading skills. COMPASS is the primary placement test for Athens Technical College. A calculator will be provided for use on the math section of the test.
- ASSET - A timed, paper-pencil assessment of basic skills in writing, reading, numerical reasoning, and elementary algebra. A calculator will be provided for use on the elementary algebra portion of the test.
The main office for admissions testing is on the Athens campus, although placement testing is conducted regularly on each of our satellite campuses. For additional information, click on the Placement Test link above.
