Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) is a grant for undergraduate students with exceptional financial need. This grant provides money to students to help pay their educational expenses. You must meet all of the general eligibility requirements in order to qualify.
You may be eligible to receive FSEOG if:
  • you are eligible for a Federal Pell Grant and
  • you are registered for at least 5 credit hours per semester

How do I apply for SEOG?

To apply, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Check here for the Application Process

How am I selected to receive SEOG?

Athens Tech receives a limited amount of funds each year for SEOG and it is intended for students with exceptional need. Students with the lowest expected family contribution (EFC) who will also receive Pell Grants for the award year are grouped by the FAFSA completion date. If SEOG funds remain, these funds are awarded to other eligible students.

How much money can I get?

The maximum award is $900 a year.

When will I receive my financial aid?

Your award is first applied to your school charges to cover tuition and fees. A portion of your grant (after charges) is made available in the bookstore prior to the first day of the semester. Any money left over is paid to you as a refund. Please check here to view the current semester's Pell refund dates.
