Carol is the Vice-Chair of the Georgia State Board of Education, a member of the Athens Rotary Club, Oconee County Chamber of Commerce, Madison County Chamber of Commerce, Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, Athens Area Homebuilders Association, Athens Area Association of Realtors, Women's Council of Realtors, Leadership Georgia Alumni Association, Friends of the Georgia Museum of Art, and Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association. She serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Mary's Health Care System, Youth Leadership Athens and University Roundtable.
Carol is the sustainer of the Junior League of Athens. She is a member and past director of the Athens Rotary Club and Athens Area Chamber of Commerce. She is also a member and past president of the Leadership Athens Alumni Association and Workforce Investment Board.

Vince has served as Chair of the NCAA Football Issues Committee and Chairman of the National Sportsmanship/Fan Behavior Summit. He has served on the Honors Court for the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame, Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year selection committee, and Broyles Award Assistant Coach of the Year committee.

He has been past President of the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA), NCAA Division 1-A Athletic Directors, and American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). He has also been past Chairman for the American Football Coaches Association Ethics Committee, American Football Coaches Association Public Relations Committee, NCAA Football Rules Committee, NCAA Football Recruiting Committee, and College Football Association (CFA) Coaches Committee

Other Distinctions:
Vince has received many honors and recognitions including the 2005 Francis J. "Reds" Bagnell Award Contributions to the Game of Football by the Maxwell Club, 2005 Bob Woodruff Award for outstanding contributions to college athletics by the Knoxville, Tennessee Quarterback Club,
2004 James J. Corbett Award recipient from NACDA, 2004 John L. Toner Award recipient from National Football Foundation and Hall of Fame, and 2004 Contributions to College Football Award presented by National College Football Awards Association and ESPN.

He was also selected to Georgia Trend Magazine Hall of Fame in 2004 and named by Georgia Trend Magazine as one of the Top 100 Georgians of the Century in 2000. He was named the 2001 NACDA Division 1-A Southeast Region Athletic Director of the Year, 1984 "Georgian of the Year" by the Georgia Association of Broadcasters and 1984 "Sports Administrator of the Year" by the State of Georgia Sports Hall of Fame.
