Michele achieved a 25% productivity improvement increase in less than 12 months via introduction of business unit metrics and operational efficiency measures across business units. Subsequently, eliminated the need to import acid for the North American market that realized $1 million of operational savings.

She attained from 2001 – 2006 an outstanding safety record of 5 years without a lost time accident and 4 years without a recordable injury during tenure as plant manager due to initiating an ongoing behavioral-based safety program designed to increase individual internalization of safety values.

Michele collaborated with a biochemical development team to improve the productivity of a recombinant microorganism for the production of 1-phenylalanine that resulted in discovering a strain that doubled the productivity. Consequently, rendered the need to only run the manufacturing facility 6 months each year, thereby saving $8.2 million annually.

She achieved facility, quality systems and training improvements resulting in USDA lift of Veterinary Biologics hold on three product lines in less than twelve months bringing facility to new level of performance as indicated by final removal of USDA notice.
